The following article ran in the East Liverpool, Ohio's The Evening Review on September 10, 1947 and discusses the construction:

HALL CHINA ADDITION WILL COST $100,00

Work Will Begin Oct. 1 For Office, Warehouse Space

The Hall China co. announced today construction is scheduled to start about Oct. 1 on two plant additions that will cost a total of approximately $100,000.

Designed to provide enlarged office and warehouse space, the additions will be erected by the Nellis Construction Co. Both will be of brick and concrete designed to match the original plant structure erected in 1930.

The enlarged office space will be provided by a 40- x 100-foot one-story addition at the front of the company's existing offices, facing Elizabeth St. A second-story addition approximately 36 feet wide and 100 feet long to provide added warehouse space will be erected over the present packing shed in the southwest section of the plant.

Several additions have been made in the 17-year history of the present plant. The last, completed in 1941, provided new space for the decorating shop.

Plans for the new construction first were revealed several months ago when the firm opened negotiations with City Council to vacate a short section of Annie St., which leads into the plant from Elizabeth St. In return, the company traded the city a piece of ground of the same size adjoining the right-of-way in order that the street could be re-located.

This picture comes from a 1948 Hall China catalog and notes the different additions over the years.
