Fiesta® Shakers
Vintage Fiesta® Salt and Pepper Shakers

Fiesta® was the first Homer Laughlin line of dinnerware to have salt and pepper shakers. They were part of the original assortment in 1936 and were made during Fiesta®'s entire run and in all eleven glazes.

Each was made with seven holes. The larger holes were for pepper and the smaller holes for salt. When the line was restyled in the late 1960s for Sheffield Amberstone, the holes were changed so the pepper had seven holes and the salt had six. The six- and seven-hole configuration was used with Coventry Casualstone and Fiesta® Ironstone.

The larger Fiesta® Kitchen Kraft shakers were made in red, blue, yellow, and green from 1938 until October 30, 1944 (the color red itself was discontinued a year prior). As with other shakers, the large holes are for pepper and the small holes for salt.

Contemporary Fiesta® Salt and Pepper Shakers

The salt and pepper shakers with the six- and seven- hole patterns were part of the line when it was reintroduced in 1986. They are still in production today and have been made in all of the standard Fiesta® glazes.

They weren't supposed to be made in sapphire or raspberry, but some examples of both colors exist. Also, they have not been made in foundry.

Fiesta® Cheese Shaker

The cheese shaker was created to go with the large pasta bowl. The boxed set was sold by Macy's.

Original concept for the cheese shaker in bisque

The original concept was to take a handled rangetop shaker and make a new hole pattern in the shape of a letter C. However, a new style was modeled on May 30, 2007. The handle was removed, and the holes were arranged in a star pattern. The large pasta bowl was modeled a month later on June 13.
