Tempo by Homer Laughlin
According to company records, the following items were created in September 1964 for the Tempo shape.
  • Covered Sugar
  • Creamer
  • Teacup
  • Coffeepot
  • Sauceboat/Utility Jug
The coffeepot was noted as being made taller in October 1964. More than likely the hollowware listed above was meant to go with already existing plain, round coupe shapes popular at the time.

I've yet to encounter any vintage advertisements or examples of Tempo and it may be the case it never went into production. Below is an original drawing of model 2782, the Tempo covered sugar from September 1964. Its bell-bottom base closely resembles HLC's Provincial shape from 1968.
