The Western Stoneware Company of Monmouth, IL began in 1906. It was formed by the merger of seven potteries: Monmouth Pottery Co. and Weir Pottery Co. of Monmouth, IL, Macomb Stoneware Co. and Macomb Pottery Company of Macomb, IL, Culbertson Stoneware Co. of White Hall, IL, Clinton Stoneware Co. of Clinton, MO, and Fort Dodge Stoneware of Fort Dodge, IA.
